Burson's First Game!

Blake and Amy decided it was time to take Burson to his first game and I was so excited. These kids are so so fun and I love playing with them! Bebe and Paw Paw drove up to join us as well. We chose a Sunday afternoon which made us all - mainly me bc I hate to sweat - nervous due to heat but it turned out perfect. We sat in the shade and had a breeze. So nice! Pretty sure that will be our last nice game at the ballpark this summer...it is so humid already!

Molly and EK love the Captain but we couldn't find him anywhere. Good thing, I know where to look for him!

Bebe wasn't quite as strong (sorry Mom) as Amy so Paw Paw filled in later to help get EK some air. 

This sweet girl got a black eye at the game...look at her left eye. It is turning purple. She showed us all and was still smiling! I think she might have been proud of her shiner! 

Colorado - The Big 4th Anniversary

Every year Kelly and I go to a different B&B for our anniversary. I have planned every year - all 3 - but this year he wanted to do it. Go for it dude! I was excited not to be our traveling secretary for a change. He chose Colorado after an extensive google search in locating the best B&Bs in the country. He found an awesome one - Mountain Comfort B&B - located in Alma just outside Breckenridge. It was awesome and they have the most delicious breakfast. Plus the BEST bacon I have ever ever ever had. OH MY WORD. I still dream about that bacon. 

I uploaded the photos from my phone and they aren't in order...plus I am too lazy to move them around so we will just stick with this layout. Enjoy our Colorado trip!

We did this on our last day. The whole trip I was nervous about it but turns out, I LOVE IT. It was amazing and I will do it again and again in my life. SO AWESOME.

We borrowed our Inn Keeper's snow shoes and headed out. It was pretty fun after about 30 minutes of getting the hang out it. There are LOTS of underground ponds and creeks in Colorado and it was scary not know what was under you. I walked on lots of bushes to make sure I wasn't going to drown.

My spur of the moment snow man. I didn't have gloves and it was SO cold so this was the best I could do. His beret is a bottle cap...pretty clever, huh?

This was the very first thing we did after we landed in Denver. Coors Field is awesome. We saw their tunnel, behind the scenes - we know people - and the whole park. It was so pretty!
Don't worry, we didn't stay for the game. They were playing the Giants and everyone knows how I feel about that team!

We are on top of Independence Pass heading to Aspen. It was beyond cold and the snow was so bright!

We had planned to hike this day but it was a little snowy and cold.

This past weekend, we celebrated sweet Emery Kate's birthday. We kicked it off with her dance recital. She performed 2 songs and Molly - the cutest little bumble bee - performed one. Kelly and I missed Molly's dance as we were chain sawing down trees (yes, you read that right) at the Arlington House but we saw both of EK's. The dance recital (we had 20 in attendance from our 2 families...loud and proud!) was so cute and then we went to Blake and Amy's for EK's "family party". You can't beat mexican food, laughter and strawberry cake!

Spring 2014

After some urging from my friend Katie, I have decided to finally update my blog. It has almost been a year so it is probably time. You can live out my Spring Training via pictures!

A pic from our game last night. Night games are nice but they sure make for early mornings.

I have been walking almost every day after work. I really enjoy seeing all the desert plants. This little guy just started blooming. So pretty!



We rented a house this year. First time and we like it so much better than the apartment. I really think it has made spring fly by. It has a much better bed, NICE furniture, big kitchen and a garage. It's the little things.

This was about as far as I got into the pool. That thing is freezing! Good thing we have a heater on it.

Meet Cathy the Cactus. She lives in our front yard and is home to a few birds that have built a nest in her and on her. She is large and in charge and so pretty!

Desert Randomness Part 2

The past couple of weeks have just flown by! We had another off day - can I get an Amen! - and went to the Grand Canyon. It was a spur of the moment trip and was awesome breathtaking glorious amazing wonderful perfect. I am going to do a full post on it when I get back to Texas. My computer is already packed to come home!



I could stay for days upon days at the Grand Canyon. The place is amazing and pictures don't do it justice.

 

We had a great sunset a few nights ago. The clouds are so dreamy! My sis-in-law said it looked just like heaven. Love!

 

Kelly had to come into work super early one morning so I asked if he could just take the car - so I could sleep - and then come back and pick me up. Being the super sweet guy he is, he said sure! So he picked me up in this.

 

 

 

I turned on my Pandora and we jammed to a little Reckless Kelly on the way to work. That's how we roll...

 

I have finally gotten up to 50 minutes on the elliptical machine. It takes an iPod, an iPhone, a magazine and a TV to do it but I get it done. Our apartment gym is really nice and I will miss it.

6 more days until we fly home. Can I get a yee-haw?!?!?

 

Desert Randomness

Out here it feels as if everyday is Ground Hog Day. You wake up, go to work, eat dinner, watch TV and sleep. The next day we do it all again. By day ten, I start to lose track of what day it is and really have to make an effort to look at the calendar. I miss appointments, birthdays, and TV shows because honestly, every day feels same. Home game days might be a little busier but it is still basically the same day. All of this means that I have made little effort to take pictures since we aren't living it up. I haven't even busted out my big camera once. Terrible! We enjoyed a relaxing night at Hoggy's house one evening. Sat outside by the fire pit and listened tot the waterfall. I swear if he would have had a hammock, I would have spent the night!

Did you know that out here in the desert, cactus grows anywhere!?!?

JD got this massive 5.5 container of Red Vines and graciously put them on my desk. Thanks Buddy!Good thing I don't like them or I might be in trouble. I encourage people to daily to take 5 or 10...or 15 of them!

There is the sweetest minor league player from Japan. He gave them to me and a couple other people in the office for being nice to him. Awwwww!!! I am bringing some back to Texas to share.

 

 

And yes, it rained again. This spring has had the craziest weather.
